They sent me an invoice with stuff they had replaced and fixed, all with $0 next to them, and they UPS 2nd day aired it back to me as per my request, all for free (no chump change to AK, I can tell you). The funny part is that they sent me a brand new shock. No part of it is from my old unit. They indicated on the invoice some parts they claim to have replaced, but this is not my old shock in any way. That's fine with me, but why send a parts list if it is just new all-around?

I rode it today, but only for an hour on snowy roads. I dialed in about 4 clicks of the bob knob and didn't feel much effect even though on my old shock, when it was new, one click had a huge effect. I need to spend more time with it. One of my requests when sending it in to get overhauled was that they actually make the effect of the bob knob milder, because when the shock was working, I only used the first click. Every subsequent click was a little more platform than I wanted, so I asked them to back the whole thing off so I would have a greater range of toned-down adjustment to play with. I need to see if they actually payed attention and custom valved a new shock to be softer through the range for me or if this one is similarly defective and stuck-wide-open like my old one was after 6 weeks of use. I have to admit I never minded the action of the "broken" one at all. I didn't even notice it wasn't working right for a few weeks. Nice to be on a bike which pedals great without a band-aid shock, imo.

See ya,

There are a bunch of people stranded in Anchorage, but I think they are mostly trying to get into Dutch Harbor. Later.
