Only the OEM version is available without bosses, aftermarket versions all have them.

Don't understand why they couldn't throw on the bossless lowers for aftermarket, if that's what a customer wants, but they won't. Maybe if you hold out, you can get one through Supergo. The Talas RLC's they were selling were bossless, so they apparently bought out some bike manufacturer's overstock OEM's. I think they still had the factory warranty, so maybe they bought the overstock from Fox. Perhaps the same thing will happen with some Vanillas. They try and console you by pointing out that they have nice little plugs installed in case you don't want to install brake bosses but the bossless design is WAY cleaner looking. I wish I hadn't answered this post because the more I think about it the more aggravated I'm getting!!!

I wonder if Fox would sell you the lowers separately? How bad can that be, like under a 100? All the fun bits would move over.

Thanks guys, I just hope my lbs can get me one with out bosses, I just dont like the way that looks with the bosses and a disk. Looks like your not done building your bike.
If I cant get the vanilla with out the bosses I buy a dam Z1 SL.
