I am getting a Med Blur and am planning to use an F80RLT. Purpose is XC/XC Race. No big drops, etc. Does the Blur handle ok with 80mm travel?

I've also got a med blur with a talas rlc. My primary use is as a trail bike; but I have actually raced a couple of events with it (though nothing serious -- mostly 24hr).

I asked them about the max setting on the talas and how it might affect the ride, and they told me (after telling me that running at 125 invalidates the warranty...) that the frame was designed specifically with the float 100 in mind. You can and certainly I have seen people running shorter travel forks (i.e. 85mm marathon); but I'd imagine it might feel a little strange. The blur geometry's pretty laid back with a higher bb height than shorter travel frames like the fuel or nrs. The blur's pushing the limit as a serious race rig despite the very light weight.

That being said, I've done fine in the events I've done. The blur really shines for the epic rides. I'm taking mine down to the cream puff 100 this june...
