5th Element shock setup recommendations?(5 posts)

5th Element shock setup recommendations?GeePhroh
Jan 12, 2004 6:41 PM
I just picked up an iron horse sgs pro ($1600 monster deal from supergo) and I'm scratching my head about getting the 5th element dialed in. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. The frame is the small (though it's a 45lb tank) and I weigh in at 150.

Thanks in advance.

Dude!! Thats way too much bike for you!! What are you thinkin? As far as setup goes.......take the shock off and duct tape one tennis ball on the top shock mount and another on the bottom mount, and you're ready to take flight!!!!!
Good luck SUCKA!!

Check out www.tftunedshox.com for some great setup tips from Tim Flukes. Open all three adj. fully. (2 compression +1 rebound) Then follow the tips from there. Keep in mind, the amount of air in the chamber, the firmer the pedalling platform will be. (I thing they say 40-100psi for FR/DH) using the minimum amount of air, check spring rate. Changing the size of the air chamber changes how sudden the ramp up is for bottoming. Good luck.

Check out the Iron Horse manufacturer forum. Ska Todd posted up some good tuning tips for the 5th.
