| FYI '04 Firefly weight here.... | Crashman Jan 13, 2004 1:00 PM | | Weighed on my local USPS digital scale, two of them actually the one outside and the inside one and the weights matched exactly. 5lbs even with axle included. My fork steerer is cut less than 2" and has the star nut and lower CK headset race. This is a '04 Firefly SPV TA and weight does indlude the axle.
Only .5 lbs heavier than my '01 Psylo with standard QR, worth every extra ounce. |
| Hey thanks a lot Crashman, that pleases me quite a bit... | Mario Jan 13, 2004 6:31 PM | | It's very nice of you to have taken the time to weigh it.
I'm kind of a weight weenie that likes to have a rugged trail bike. I think the Firefly will definitely meet my needs better than the Minute but I was dissapointed to see that it had gained weight from 03 to 04. Well, now I think I have gone over the psychological barrier that I will have a 5lbs fork and I'm really happy to see that it's not 5.3 or even 5.5lbs with the TA axle.
Thanks again. I think I can see a Firefly coming my way very soon...
Give us a quick review of the fork when you feel like it. There is not enough people talking about those Manitou forks.
Cheers. |
| Hey thanks a lot Crashman, that pleases me quite a bit... | CORTINA RIDER Jan 14, 2004 5:48 PM | | I guess my FedEx digital weights a little heavier than Crashman's scale. I have been riding the fork and love it as I stated below. You can't go wrong with Manitou. The TPC+ on my 03 is awesome and is by far better than any Marzocchi I ever rode.I now have four mountain bikes I ride with four Manitou forks. I tried a Psylo and blew it in two weeks and had to wait a month to get it back(Marketplace next day). I live in southern California and can get a Manitou back in three working days.Bobby in warranty is awesome and the most helpful person I ever delt with in any warranty situation. Hope this helps. |
| Thanks, good to ear good feedback for Manitou -nm | Mario Jan 15, 2004 5:59 AM | | |
