Does anyone know if there is something new for coil 5th elements for 2004? Have Progressive worked something out for the frequent air-loss/oil-leak maybe? Or doesn't it depend on years, and they are improving during a year as well? (I heard something like this in connection with the Bullits/Hecklers)Or they just stay same...
I have your back on this one.Damion

They have refined the seals. The 04 coil lineup has three shocks. The original 5th with H/L speed compression control, rebound control, SPV pressure and chamber size. THe other two (2-way and 3-way) offer less external control. the 2-way has rebound and platform damping. the 3-way allows setting the platform, compression, and rebound. There you go, Three choices. Personally, I dig my 5th element. The new seals are working great so far.

Damion is correct. We have also improved the shaft finish and redesigned the volume adjuster to improve strength and durability. A condition exsisted with the old VA where a user could back it out too far and break it internally. That conidtion is eliminated with the new design. Also, for '04 you will get new air valve caps that are much more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. There are other internal changes that won't matter at the consumer level, but the drive was to reduce the number of parts, which should improve quality. Fewer parts mean fewer possible things to go wrong.
