Has anybody ridden both the Triad shock and the regular, rebound only adjustable Fox shocks on the 2004 Stumpjumpers? How does the Triad in ProPedal mode compare to the regular ProPedal shock on the lower-level Stumpjumpers?

I don't take much stock in Mountain Bike Action's [Feb04] test on the '04 SJ [they say the Triad in Pedal mode is like "ProPedal on steroids." Whatever that means] so I'd like a more down-to-earth and realistic assessment from you real-world guys who have tested both shocks.

Comments are much appreciated =)

The pro-pedal platform used on the Triad Shock has increased compression dampening than the standard float with pro-predal.
What does this mean?
It means that it takes more force to activate the rear Triad in pro-pedal mode than it takes to open a standard pro-pedal shock. The entry level Stumpjumper FSR which comes with a float r minus the Triad option has the same twin sleeve shock body of the Triad (higher volume than the standard float)and has the ramped up compression dampening of the Triad in pro-pedal mode. The entry level stumpy fsr rides similar to the higher model fsr's when set in pro-pedal mode.
The difference between pro-pedal and the fully open mode is most noticeable when riding on pavement or smooth trails.

Hope this helps,

Josh
Yup, that helps a lot. Thanks Josh ;-) [nm]rigel
