hardtail vs full susp for east coast racing?thetitans

Would I be faster on a hardtail or light weight full suspension. Let's say 22 pound HT vs 25 pound FS. Has anyone compared their times over a known trail? I plan on riding Mountainbikeracer series at Sport.

I think you need to ride both and determin for yourself. Some will swear by each! I personally prefer a FS XC ricing type bike (Titus Racer X). What age group as we may be racing against each other so I can't give away any winning secrets :)
