| MTB Training Bible MS phase question... | Echo Mar 8, 2002 1:10 PM | | On Monday I start the maximum strength (MS) phase of my training. Friel gives a list of exercises to perform and the number of sets/reps. My question is, do I complete all the sets for a single exercies and then move onto the next? Or do I do a set and move to the next exercies, do a setand move to the next, etc., until I cycle through all the exercieses?
Thanks in advance,

| For the MS phase.... | free-agent Mar 9, 2002 4:19 PM | | I usually do all of the sets for the exercise and then move on. If there is room at my gym I may alternate two exercises at one time (an upper body and lower body of course). I prefer to alternate when I can as it tends to keep the heart rate up!
Have fun. |

After I've don my first two MS specific (leg press, seated row) I do a circuit of three sets of the AA exercises, one set each before rotating, before finishing with a set of three standing rows at MS. When talking about the AA and ME phases he mentions that they can be done in a circuit for cardio work. The confusion comes in where he talks about using the AA routines within the other phases. |
