Of course my preference is to go deep, but sometimes time isn't there. Rather than snub the ride for the day, what benefit is there. I guess if I have to cite a training goal, its to perform better on 3-4 hour trail blasting. Doing a long ride will stress your aerobic endurance, and given adequate rest will make you stronger for the next long ride. So if you want to get better at long rides, you need to ride long. Simple, but true. The only obstacle is time of course. |
