| holy cow, man. | up_hiller Mar 19, 2002 8:18 AM | | that is a VERY BROAD question. an "answer" could take forever.
not to mention there is a great deal of debate surrounding the use of supplements.
there are supplements for many purposes: aid in performance during exercise, aid in recovery, help build muscle, burn fat, and on and on and on. unless you have a certain goal in mind (e.g., pack on some new muscle with your weight training program --->might be beneficial to use protein powder, provided that you are working out properly to begin with) there is no point in simply grabbing a couple of containers at random at GNC just to see what will happen, because probably you will not notice anything that way. if you do, it will likely be bad.
supplements can be beneficial, but only when used properly. and before using any supplement, make sure you do lots of research on it (try www.supplementwatch.com). some of the stuff on the market can really screw you up, especially if you do not take it correctly.
sounds like you just need to do some reading. the info is out there.
happy trails!
