6 weeks to go....what would you do (training advice)?Carl Mega

I don't normally post/lurk here but I thought some of the resident big brains could give me some decent advice.

I'm doing a solo 24hr race in 6 weeks. Single-speed. Flat and fast. I'm currently in pretty good shape. I think I have a decent base - I ride 6 days a week but with no real training plan. I just listen to my body and ride accordingly.

My goal for this race is at least 10 laps (185mi) - truthfully, I'd like to do over 200mi (not looking to win or anything but I'd like a good showing). This is more mileage than I ever put on a mountain bike in a single ride/event. I feel like I should be ramping up on the distance and switch to a higher gear so I can push some speed on this flat course (I'm mainly a hill climber - CO mountains). I'd like to hear some "loose" recomendations for my next six weeks of training given that I'd like to increase my over all endurance coupled with the fact that I'm going to need to increase my "flat power" for this very different course than I'm accustomed. Basically, I'd like meet my goals with a minimum of needless suffering. Remember all my training will be on a single speed - road or mountain so I will be going anerobic at times.

I have some other ultra-endurance experience including 2 other solo 24hr races before with good results - a top 5 over-all and a top 10 over-all where I would have most likely placed top 3 if my stomach didn't turn south 1/2 through.

Thanks.
