I used to race expert, then got into the SS thing. Training depends on what events I am going for. Last few years I have trained for a 100 mile race and needed to put in mad long days in the saddle to do so. This year I'll be concentrating on being fast in shorter races so I'll probably end up doing 8-15 hrs a week depending on what phase of training I am in. Riding a TwoCircles Cycloid singlespeed.

I'm currently training for a solo 24 Hr race. I've been racing the 24 Hrs of Adrenaline race at Hardwood Hills (Ontario, Canada) for 8-yrs as part of a 5-man team. This year, I'm up'ing the ante by going solo at another 24 Hr race (Summer Solstice).

I also race SS cross and SS road.

Ride Hard,
Mike B.

Expert this year. 6-12 hours/week training including xc skiing (classic). Ride an upgraded Fuel 100. Not pretty, but it works.

I mostly do 1-1 1/2 hour xc races, but also do a 5 person 24 hour, and a corporate 24 hour race every year. Will also try riding/racing with the roadies this year a bit.

I only race about 3-4 times a year. Would do more but with a 5 year old and a 2 year old, its kinda hard to find spare time to train. Racing, for me, is strictly for fun. My goal is usually to finish and not to finish last. I typically finish close to the top 50% (not quite though). My goal this year is to finish in the top 50% in at least one of my races.

I'm a true beginner. My first race was last October. The AZ Season officially starts this Saturday.

Here's a pic of me racing at 24 hours of tahoe. I'm riding my friend's bullet because I broke my sugar on the first lap.
