head achesthebronze
Jan 1, 2004 9:14 AM
OK, Ive been getting killer headaches an hour or two after rides.
I'm hydrating as much as I can before, during, and after pound the gatorade. Any of you trainer types have an idea why? I dont do gu or powerbars during the ride, but I think i'm gonna try that to see if it helps. At first I thought it was simple de hydration, but i'm drinking a ton of water. Electrolytes maybe? Feels like a hangover.
any thoughts?

I used to get them after every race, and I have no idea why. Now I rarely get them. Have you been riding hard for a long time? Is this something new for you? Maybe your body just needs to get used to riding hard for longer periods of time. Do you drink any sports drinks before and during the ride?
maybe that you have trouble with gatorade?laotsu42

i used to get headaches allot too mostly due to lack of electrolites but you should be getting electrolites from the gatorade

try another source of electrolites for a couple of weeks
and then try gatorade

i have alot of food allgeries and i have found that for me a headache that i cannot find a cause for is usually allergy related

maybee not but who knows ..
hope that helps ...
sorry for the double post...NMlaotsu42
