| superlight tyres | Ty Nov 2, 2001 5:11 AM | | Anyone tried drilling holes in tyres/tubes to shave off weight? |
| Something else they´ve tried : | Jan Gerrit Nov 2, 2001 5:32 AM | | Nope, never tried that. Weight saving would also be minimal. Tell me, how many 1 mm holes (bigger will make the innertube work though the hole) do you expect to have to drill to save 50g?
IRC tried something else for their loyal customers : hollow knobs. Those s*cked!! Knobs just got ripped OPEN with a nice lock-up... These tires is, Mythos knobby rear, weren´t even as light as the firs Japanese models, I once had a 460g rear...
FTR, IRC distributor here in Holland replaced the Hollow tires as warranty. |
| I was only joking! | Ty Nov 3, 2001 5:21 AM | | I wasn't seriously considering drilling holes in my tyres and tubes!! I was only joking but the reply does make ya think, what next, has anyone considerd drilling holes in their spokes? |
