Will XT Hollow Tech cranks fit on XTR or Dura-Ace bottom bracket?
Splined !(8)Thanks
Nope--not compatible unfortunately. You need an ES70 BB(nm)AZ X-Racer

Shimano claimed that the XTR cranks were the only ones that were strong enough to use the XTR spline. Thus they developed the XT spline.

Most likely though is that Shimano realized that an XT crank with a XTR bb would have meant that you could have a lighter setup than full XTR for much much less money. And we can't undermine the XTR flagship can we? The XTR spline is identical to the road spindles (Dura Ace, Ultrega) so I'm not so sure that I buy their (Shimano's) reasoning.

The only cranks that currently used (Not sure on 2002 stuff, sorry) the XT crank spline BB were Shimano XT, and Shimano LX. (A few OEM things are now set up to work with it too. Think C-Dale mostly.)
