| it's a rubber strip that allows VERY low pressures &... | IAmtnbikr Jan 15, 2002 5:44 PM | | is supposed to weigh around 50-60g I think. He claims you can push the tire off the bead and the strip will still seal it up. |
| Sounds like the Maxxis rimstrips... | DeeEight Jan 15, 2002 8:15 PM | | which weighs about the same and seals non-tubeless rims for low pressure operation. |
| Sounds like the Maxxis rimstrips... | Jan_Gerrit Jan 15, 2002 10:42 PM | | I've heard from those on this forum, never actually saw them anywhere else. Aren't these supposed to be unreasonably expensive?
Still strange that we get no reports whatsoever of people using it for their latex setup. Perhaps it's not waterproof or sensitive to the diluters in the latex? |

| It's gone - It was there yesterday! | Brussel Sprout Jan 16, 2002 10:30 PM | | Hi,
The kit was there yesterday - Really :) You're right though, it's not there any more. It was right at the top of the 'Kit & Accessories' page, priced at $55.

| I have tried it/great. | teamdicky Jan 16, 2002 5:12 AM | | I had problems with the previous system(mostly due to a loose fitting Continental) Stan allowed me to test an early prototype and all I can really say is that it works. The tire is ON THERE TIGHT. You do lose some of the weight benefit from the previous system, but the tire WILL NOT creep. Installation is so easy it is silly(once you undersatnd how it works). |
| We want pictures!! | SmartA$$ Jan 16, 2002 6:30 AM | | And I wonder how it works, and if indeed we still need to seal-tape the rims. The site states that it works with most 22mm rims, with which WON´T it work? |
| pictures won't do justice | teamdicky Jan 16, 2002 10:01 AM | | I don't have the ability (at present) to take a picture, but it wouldn't be to revealing anyhow. It's just a simple, but well thought out design. You don't need to SEAL the rim but strapping tape has to be used to cover the spoke holes. Using a standard rim tape may make it hard to get the tire on. I am sure Stan will have the usual explicit instructions. It will work on a 22mm rim. I sealed up a Dolomite (OCR spokeholes) and will be putting the system on a Sun rim tonight. His new liquid solution also seems to be working quite well. |
