Replacing stock BB on Cannondales with splined cranks(3 posts)

Replacing stock BB on Cannondales with splined cranksThe Notorious R.O.B.

I have a 2001 Jekyll 3000, which has the CX-3 Competition crankset. Cannondale's splined cranks are designed to be used with Shimano road bb's. Mine was an english thread, 68mm width x 109.5mm spindle bb-6500 ultegra, so I switched it with a bb-7700 dura ace. 50 grams lighter, and only $34.99 at Supergo.com--- Also switched-out the spider and rings for a 2x9 setup, since I never use the granny anyway, and wanted a little smaller "middle" ring. So instead of 22-32-44, it's 29-34; with a 12-34 cassette. Just switching to 2x9 29t ring and spider and dropping-off the granny gear shaved another 75-100 grams; says Cannondale Tech Support. Hope it helps SOMEBODY.

Ride on,
The Notorious R.O.B.
