Paging Marco Righetti....bonker

I am inquiring about your USE Alien Carbon seatpost. Since we both have Fuels, I *assuming* they both have 31.6mm size posts. What size Alien Carbon did you purchase and what size shim. Thanks!!

hi bonker as far as i now the post comes in a mtb length and a road length, the road length is not recommended for the fuel (rats! as it is lighter)i dont know what the precise shim diameter is but as the diameter of the mtb post is one size then the shim would have to be corresponding (wow!this is heavy for me!)hope this helps if not i can get off my fat butt and measure it!

Thanks for the reply. Is the MTB size 350mm in length? I'm not that tall so I don't need to pull the post out that far. I wonder if the 270mm would be okay.
USE has 2 sizes: 25.0 /27.2mm...nino

you have to use shims to make them fit your frame.the shims weigh about 20-30g depending on size.make sure you have the post about 6cm inserted.
yes bonker the mtb size is 350 mm.................marco righetti

you would need to ask your lbs for their advice on this but personally i feel that even if you where small in size you would still need the 350 mm length as the geometry of a mtb is obviousley different from a road bike ie a mtb has a sloping top tube which makes the seat tube lower.

Thanks guys. I remember reading somewhere that 350mm was the MTB size. Just making sure.
