| Light setback Seatpost | cyclejim Jan 18, 2002 9:37 PM | | I currently have a Race Face Prodigy setback post that came stock on my NRS:

I want to get a nice light yet durable seatpost, but don't know of any light setback posts out there. Is there a good option and if not, what are my alternatives if I go with a straight post?
Right now I have a 130 mm stem as it is on the large frame and if I don't set the saddle back on the rails my cockpit feels just a tad cramped.

| Thompson setback is reasonably light. | matt Jan 19, 2002 7:27 AM | | nm |
| Salsa Shaft. | TNC Jan 19, 2002 7:39 AM | | This post gives you a good inch of setback, while alot of the others like a Thompson only give about 16mm. It's not worth messing with a setback post unless you can achieve at least an inch. I have a Shaft on my Bullit--it is easy to adjust and has held up well to abuse (I like to sit on the Bullit alot). The Salsa still keeps weight closer to 200g than most 1" setbacks. A Titec Hellbent, at 300g with 1.5" setback, is about the strongest post for an extreme setback--I've used one of those too. The Thompson is an excellent post but just doesn't offer much setback. |
