| What the Heck??!! | Bogus Mar 22, 2002 8:39 PM | | I just got a new Race Face Signature Ti ISIS bottom bracket to replace the Isis XS that I've been running a while. I was a little bummed that it weighs only 30 gms less than the old XS (196 gms).
What really chaps me is it came with no crank bolts and now I see that my previous Isis XS or Prodigy crank bolts won't fit the Ti spindle (they're too big). It needs bolts in between the old Taperlock sized bolts and the steel Isis crank bolts. Where can I get some good light crank bolts for this BB? |
| re: What the Heck??!! | Sgt. Karj Mar 22, 2002 8:46 PM | | I've heard about this situation - contact RaceFace and ask them for the proper bolts. They should have them.
Best of luck,

| Doesn't surprise me... | DeeEight Mar 22, 2002 9:05 PM | | raceface does that all the time. Used to be if you ordered a complete crank, chainring, bottom bracket set, you'd get everything EXCEPT a pair of crank bolts. Loved the logic. Raceface couldn't be troubled to give you $2 worth of steel bolts after you spent several hundred dollars on their parts. |
| RF crank bolts. | Andystrike10 Mar 22, 2002 11:57 PM | | My Ti ISIS came with bolts, however they weighed a ridiculous 40g!! for the pair, and as they are M12 nobody makes replacement bolts. Its a nice BB, good seals and bearings shame about the bolts.
Anyway, I've managed to get the steel bolts down to 20g for the pair, with a couple of simple "tweaks". |
| Your BB should have come with bolts. They ship with them... | AZ-X Mar 23, 2002 6:01 AM | | You need to contact whoever you purchased it from and ask them why it didn't or call Raceface to tell them what happened. They should send them right out. |
| Done. | Bogus Mar 23, 2002 10:15 AM | | I called 'em and they're sending me some. They said something about some being packaged wrong. |
| Done. | paulesk177 Mar 23, 2002 3:48 PM | | Crap, I just placed an order with a RF XS BB in there. Hope I don't get the same prob. =\ |
| My XS was fine. | Bogus Mar 24, 2002 7:00 AM | | It was the RF Signature Ti Isis BB that came w/o bolts--they said it was a packaging error and shouldn't happen. |
