| FrankenTube is leaking | eric wictor Mar 23, 2002 12:00 AM | | RP, CLoxxki, I don't what to tell you. It has held up fine during rides, but has lots almost 25 psi just sitting in the garage. Not good! |
| re: FrankenTube is leaking | Cloxxki Mar 23, 2002 6:32 AM | | We all know why. It's not forming a closed tube like Stan's does. Anf I bet, that when you push the bead off the rim, you'll have one very flat tire. It's easy to inflate any tubeless rimstrip, but to out-perform even the basic tape/latex setup is a whole other story...
Next to try:
- Stop press : Melting stan's-style strip together with tire on UST rim
- Non-Stretchable Tube (downhill-proof system)
- Strips that cling to the tire on two sides of the bead. Mount with tubular-type glue (=removable). |

So the strip ain't causin' the leakin'! Also, @ 20 psi I almost pulled the tire clear of the rim. A little air loss, but no latex spray. Ha! But I've decided I switch tires too often to goof with this latex setup. I'll just fill a latex tube with about 35g of sealant and have done with it. CU @ Nieuwkuijk... |

How about my other ideas? Please all help me figure out good ways to realize them! |
