| Rear Shock changes to Rolands Fuel 100 | Adam Mar 25, 2002 9:07 AM | | I noticed that he also switched his rear shock to a Rock Shox from the Fox Float RL. This should have saved him some weight,(50g) but I didn't think that you could lock these out. He has a handlebar lockout on his bike...HMMMMMM. Any ideas? Blackbox maybe? Anyone have any experience with this combo? Does the RS lockout? Also he's not the only one with the green fork. |
| You're right about the fork color, Adam. See the posts below... | AZ-X Mar 25, 2002 9:30 AM | | Several of the top pros were on on green "Black Box" forks.
The Fox Float changeover seems to explain the lockout issue. I had seen some of the Trek team issue Fuels during the off season and they all had SID rears with either a manual lockout or a damper knob like the one on my Giant NRS Air. There was no remote lockout (although I've seen SID rears with them on the Cannondale team bikes before) and the only remote lockout that I saw being tested was the one that Herbold was developing with Rockshox for their forks. Maybe Roland decided to use a rear Float RL (I've seen a remote lockout for these a year ago as well) decided not to use the SID fork remote. Who knows... |
| 2002 SID has a lockout option | Rivet Mar 25, 2002 10:04 AM | | check it out. Comes on some of Mongooses new bikes.
