Just weighed a 2000 and 2001 Schwinn Homegrown Factory frames both 21 inch models. Here is what I discovered:
2000- 3.104 lbs
2001- 3.475 lbs
I called Schwinn/Pacific and apparently there are huge differences in frame geometry as well. The 2001 has beefy rear dropouts and disc mounts on the seatstay while the 2000 model has smaller dropouts and disc mounts on the chainstay.
Just thought I would pass along the findings...
