OKAY....so here's a GOOD WW question re: fasteners.....Zonic Man

I have to spend $20 at SRP-USA.com to make a purchase....what fasteners to buy?

Thomson stem bolts are $5.80....LOL.

I know I want alum. bottle cage bolts, but what else? I ride a Steel Jericho hardtail w/ '03 xtr, a light wheelset, and marathon SL (until fox is released).

Other tidbits include WTB saddle, thomson stem/post, etc.

Is SRP expensive? Where else for things like bottle bolts, thomson stem bolts, disc brake mounting hardware, etc.

Thanks
zonic.
There are other companies that are cheaper & easier to deal withf-pig

I have used both of the following:

Tekbolt http://www.tekbolt.com/

Racebolts http://shopping.netledger.com/app/site/site.nl?category=4&site=ACCT40184&mode=items&sc=7

Racebolts has a good selection of aluminum fasteners.

Water bottle bolts: M5-0.8 x 10mm long in Aluminum work well. I use Socket Head instead of Button Head. The socket is larger and much deeper, making them easier to install and remove without rounding-out the socket. If you are just plugging the holes, the button heads look nicer.

I don't have a Thomson stem so I don't know what they use, but be sure to use titanium screws.

I am pretty sure that the disk mounting screws are M5-0.8 x 10mm long. Hopefully someone can verfiy this.

Exactly what I needed. Just installed Ti outer and inner ring bolts to my new Next LP crank for the ol' framebuild action. Ti crank bolts also with a superlight Ti AmClassic BB(along w/ a new set of the thier wheels coming n tomorrow hopefully:). Want to do as many fasteners thats practical w/ Ti or alloy. I hadn't found a good reliable source yet..until now that is. Thanks.
Went ahead and ordered from RACEBOLTS.com....Zonic Man

Keep us informed on the Thomson bolts. I have had two cases of these bolts (standard Thomson bolts) seizing up in the curved "pinch" mechanism. Each time I greased the bolts and didn't feel that I tightened it anymore then I would with a standard stem design. I'll admit that I did't use a torque wrench, but I've never had these troubles with other more traditional stems...

Let us know if you have any troubles on the swap out...

It's a "little this way, little that way" sort of adjustment.

I've seized up 2 myself, thank god not ti ones.

I'll let everyone know the dealie when the bike is built friday night.
