| Cambria "US Made" chainrings. | B R H Oct 29, 2002 12:28 PM | | Has anybody tried these yet? They're inexpensive, lightweight, and available in all sorts of sizes. They appear to be the same as those sold at Bikesource.com (can anyone confirm?). If so, they are 6061 aluminum. How well does this alloy wear in this application? Are the posted weights accurate? |

| Ramps & pins? | B R H Oct 30, 2002 10:29 PM | | I've got a RaceFace compact crankset, so I can't even try Shimano rings as far as I know. I have the thick and heavy Raceface rings on their now. I do have some problems with chainsuck on the granny whenever things get a little dirty. They seem to shift fine otherwise and are wearing well enough. No real complaints, just looking for something lighter the next time around.
Are these cheaper rings ramped and pinned? Does this really make a big difference either way? |
