| Santa Cruz Blur or Epic? | Gee Oct 31, 2002 11:39 AM | | Im in the market for a new frame....
Either a santa cruz blur or a epic.
Anyone know the weight difference?
Any suggestions? I use them mainly for trail riding and occasionaly XC racing.
Cheers,
George :) |
| I went with the Blur... | Tcov Oct 31, 2002 4:24 PM | | well, it was ordered over a year ago before anyone knew about the epic. The Blur powder coat models have been shipping for a few days now. I'm holding out for the anno version. Someone posted the weight of the epic large frame at 5lbs 12oz. That sounds very light compared to what I was told the epics would weigh. I think the Blur could be close to 6lbs actual for a large. I will post a pic on a scale when (if) it ever arrives. |

| it seems that the weight is comparable, around 6 lbs. for a med | cesman Nov 1, 2002 11:47 AM | | From a prior post of mine (admittedly, some speculation here):
for the Epic: 5 lbs. and 12 oz. is 5.75 lbs, which is about 2600 grams. That's for a small. Somebody above is saying a buddy's large approached 2900 grams. Maybe the medium is in between at 2750 or so (about 6.0 lbs)?
The Blur is 2782 according to Speedgoat's website. That's 6.0 lbs as well.
The Epic would seem like a better race bike, the blur better for downhills (more travel front and rear). |
