| Revamping Superlight for '03 with disc..or vee's..hmmmm | legendosiris Jan 25, 2003 4:42 PM | | hey everybody, just figured i'd get some opinions on my plans to upgrade my Ano Orange superlight (only 3 months old) in the coming months..my main thing is to lighten it up a bit for racing (which is what i mainly do). I'm pretty much set on goin disc unless everyone thinks its really not worth losing the vee's lightweight for racing in the southeast. btw, i only weigh about 155lbs..so i dont need overly strong parts.
Currently this is whats on it:
Frame - Superlight Med.
Fork - '02 Black Elite Air
Headset - Cane Creek
Shifters - XTR Sti Shift/levers
Brankes - Avid SD Ti
F. Der - XTR e-type
R. Der - XTR
Cranks - XTR 34-46 (took the granny ring off, never use it in FL)
BB - XTR
Pedals - Time Atac CARBON
Cassete - XT 11-34
Stem - Ritchey WCS
Seatpost - Thomson
Handlebars - Bonty Crowbar Race (heavy heavy, but fit me well)
Grips - Serfas
Saddle - Selle Flight SLR
Wheelset - '01 Rolf Dolomites (ouch)
Tires - Michelin CompS light
Total Weight - over 24lbs on a not so perfect scale.
Here's my proposed disc changes..
Fork - Manitou Skareb Super
Disc - Formula B4's
Wheelset: Hugi240 disc hubset-DT rev spokes-Mavic317
Handlebar - Easton Monkeylite SL (length is about right for me)
Seatpost - Easton EC90 soon as its available
Shifters - XT pods which i already have
I'm also prolly gonna try out a stans setup to lose some grammies.
So, you guys think its worth it?? or should i stick with a vee setup and build a sub 1400g wheelset? |
