stock Avid Mags weigh 318g incl short steel canti bolts (no noodles)

V-BRAKE TUNING:
4 Canti-bolts M6x15mm : steel 16g / Ti 10g / Al 5g...................-11g (Al)
4 padcarrier bolts: steel 20g / Ti 12g..............................................-8g (Ti)
4 pad fixing nuts M6 : steel 14g / Ti 9g / Al 4g.............................-10g (Al)
2 Cable fixing bolts M6x8mm (Avid) : steel 8g / Ti 5g / Al 3g.....-5g (Al)

Total possible savings : -34g

here`s my suggestion for optimum tuning:
2 Ti canti bolts front (Ti on the front for security reasons)
2 Al canti bolts rear
2 Al cable fixing bolts
4 Ti-padcarrier bolts
4 Al pad fixing nuts

such a set will weigh 286g incl. canti bolts.

the only place to get Ti-padcarriers is srp-usa.com
get all other bolts from various sources.here`s a collection of bolt-suppliers:

This may interest anyone out there looking to order aluminium or Ti bolts and nuts:

I just put in an order for an almost complete set of aluminium and Ti bolts for my Scott Strike. Due to the high price of the Ti bolts, and the limited availability of some of the bolt types and sizes I needed, I decided to do a head-to-head comparison of the first eight suppliers listed in Nino's post in this thread (I built an Excel spreadsheet).

The clear winner was Redmist (http://titaniumfasteners.com/shop/), who not only had the lowest prices per bolt almost across the board (up to 50% cheaper than the most expensive supplier!), in addition he offered to special order any type of bolt I needed. In addition, his shipping charges are fair ($4 in the US), he accepts PayPal, and his website is excellent -- informative and easy to navigate.

Admittedly I haven't received my bolts yet (the special order items delayed shipping), but so far -- regarding the pre-order and ordering process -- I can only say positive things about Pete Mooney at Redmist.
