| Light crank bolts for ISIS cranks.... | CODMAN Jan 27, 2003 5:50 AM | | Hey all, I'm thinking of going ISIS with a new crankset and was wondering if there are any lightweight crank bolts out there for this system?
Thanks!

| FSA : 18g... | nino Jan 27, 2003 7:34 AM | | Crank-fixing-Bolts (pair): FSA (splined,ISIS,self extracting M14,Al) : 18g FSA (ISIS,M15) : 20g FRM/FSA (ISIS Al, self-extracting) : 21g Truvativ (self extracting Al,splined type) : 25g Race-Face (ISIS,steel): 35g I just got a pair of FRM/FSA Aluminium bolts that weigh 21g.I guess that`s the same listed at just 18g above but they come with pretty massive shims so they actually weigh 21g.they seem to be prone to gert stripped though...for me that was another reason to stick with square BBs since those bolts alone weigh 10g more in ISIS pattern. |
| Truvativ aluminum self-extracting = 23g... | Wrenchester Jan 27, 2003 8:02 AM | | These came with my Stylo Team crankset. I've had the crank arms on and off several times without any problems. |
| FSA.............. | Mike T. Jan 27, 2003 8:49 AM | | .....that have the bolt centre drilled out. You laugh? Don't because I've been using a set of (square taper) drilled FSA bolts for well over a year. I got them as a gift from a bike tool inventer and I won't give his name as he's not in the business of supplying modified bolts but he gives them as gifts.
Of course only a complete bonehead would use them to install a crank but it doesn't take much to hold them there. Hey this IS the Weightweenie page!
How much does one weigh? I'd have to remove it from the bike to answer that. |
