Replacing seat clamp bolt: Titanium or aluminum...?Wrenchester

It seems to me that an aluminum bolt would be sufficient in strength for a seat clamp, since it's main job is "pinching." Any thoughts or experiences among my fellow weight weenies?
I'd go with titanium....VT Mike

even though it is pinching, it still has to hold back most of your body weight. If that bolt breaks, I would think quite a bit of damage could be done to the frame, not to mention yourself.

If you move your seat up and down with any regularity, I'd steer clear of the TI bolts. The bolt heads on TI bolts do not last long when used repeatedly. At least that's my experience.
