Chain Rings, BB help for Tune arms!Mateo

I've already ordered some Tune Bigfoot crank arms in compact size (58/94) square taper. Now I need suggestions on which rings and bb to buy for a 2x9 setup.

Frame specs:
73mm shell / 135mm dropout spacing / SRAM 9speed 11-32 cassette

What do you suggest for lightweight and correct chainline etc. AND where to purchase (this has been one of my biggest headaches)?

I have also got the Tune cranks (they are fantastic I find) and I got myself the Ti Tune AC-38 bottom bracket. It is extremely light and has caused me no problems so far, whats so ever. Also the crank bolts are Ti etc. I bought the BB directly from Tune, if that helps. (see their website for contact details & technical info)

This may work I'm sure there will be some feed back, but this should get you close.

Chain rings- Go with C-Dale 29T x 94mm, or go with the TA 30 T X 94mm-(TA chain rings you can get from bike2build.nl Big ring go with Sigino 42 T alloy, or just get a 40 or 42 TA X 94mm

Bottom bracket, Just get a Tune to match your cranks, use 73 shell x 110 spindle. Also check out Action Tech they have a adjustable bottom bracket to help with chain line, people say adjustable bottom brackets creak? You may want to reconsider your rear cassette think about XTR 12 X 34 after a couple of hours into that ride you may wish you had a bail out.

Think about this, I noticed at this years(2002) Mt. Snow no C-Dale pros where using it(2x9) anymore, and for 2003 they dont even offer it on the team replica Scaple any longer. There must be a reason (can you say "save your knees" I used it last race season and this year I will not, I am going with 22x30x42 with a 12x34 in back, it seems like it's the best of both worlds, if at the end of a very long race or very long trail ride you get a bit tired you have the option of the bail out.
FRM has a sweet and light Ti BB and 44/30/29 rings to match.DIRT BOY

I bought one, because of Nino's permanent FRM pushing over the last year.

The mechanican at my LBS installed it for me. (no, he's no beginner, he was a race mechanican)

After about 150 miles the bearings were completely DEAD. (rough like hell)
The mechanican in my LBS removed the sealings from the bearings and showed me the desaster:
no (more) grease in it and corrosion on the outside of the bearing.

I contacted FRM and told them the problem.
The answers was something like "that's a known problem, our stock bearings are not resistant against corrosion in salty conditions." and they recommended me new bearings.

Hmm, I got angry the first time. A pricy BB with crappy bearings?!
And I don't live nearby the sea...

I thought, ok let's replace the bearings with some high-quality ones and that's it.
I was wrong...
The BB ran smooth for about 150 miles, but after about 200 miles the spindle turned rough again.

I lost my patience, especially after I read some posts of other FRM BB riders in another message board.
All had the same experiences and via PM they told me that they bought it because of some Nino at Consumerreview recommending it, just like me.
Two guys said, replacing the bearing doesn't help - it seems as if the BB cups are badly designed.
The mechanican has the same opinion and told me, that I'm not the only one with this problem and that they decided to stop selling those BBs.
I threw it away and bought an AC38.
Runs smooth since 1000 miles now - without a single bearing replacement.

Some weeks ago I read a post from Nino where he admits,
that he replaces the bearing every year as "refreshment" for his bike.

I've never heard of any BB (beside of those ISIS BBs), where the bearings must be replaced after a few miles.

So much money for a bad designed product.
I'm disappointed...

but not their square taper ones. FRM will admit that ISIS is made for 1 season of racing, that is it.
I warn all my customers about this with the ISIS ones. Never heard about the ST ones going bad. Did you Contact FRM again for a replacement? They have been good with a few bearing issues that my customers had. Maybe I should stop selling them too!

I was looking at the size wrong on the FRM BB. My mistake.

FRM is possibly going to make a 73mm sqaure taper BB.

You can also switch out the spindle on the FRM for a longer one and use the provided spacer for a 73mm shell. But that kinda make more exspensive...
