sorry about the formatting. But here's all the specs. the main differences that I changed were the seatpost which I got yesterday from the use ti post + shim. I gained only 10g or so. the fox fork from the x-fly. and I just couldn't stand 818g scorpion UST tires so I went with Airlites with liquid latex in the them. the bike rides so well and without the knobs like the scorpion, on dry dirt, this thing rolls sooo fast. Also, I'm building up a new bike for my girlfriend out of my old parts and I bought her a new frame. it's a present. I'll post that bike up here when it's done. it'll be a custom powdercoated pink x-small Riddler. haha. later guys.

Nice component selection, What are your thoughts on the FOX fork? I think it is a match made in heaven for the Racer X. I suggest anyone with one should definately match this fork up with the frame. I bit heavy for a race fork, but the ride definately makes up for the weight penality.

Man, I LOVE THE FOX. I just can't belive Fox can produce such a stiff and plush fork. AFter having this fork for a week, you like at any other fork and their small fork legs, you'll think they' puny. haha. Like I said before, I love how fox matches their front and rears up. talas front/rear, Vanilla front/rear, RL(RLT,RLC) front/rear, F80X front Brain rear. They're made for eacother. why have two different shock companies on the same frame!? haha. It's aweswome, plain and simple. it's not that bad for a race fork. my bike is at 23 pounds even and feels 50/50 when you pick it up. that's what the goal for me is when I build up a bike. 50/50 weight distribution.

each, and I swear they really do brake better. I feel like the pad really grabs the hayes rotor better. I dno't know why...perhaps more surface area is hitting the pad? kinda interesting.

if anyone ever wanted to ask questions. It also helps me out when I try to remember bb sizes, fD size, what and where I got certain things for. I have 3 more columns I left out that included my cost, MSRP, and what country the part originated. I like glancing at the spread sheet and seeeing that my bike is a culmination of parts from 5 different countries and all over the US. I believe that carbon fabrication is perfect for road bikes, and titanium fabrication is perfect for mountain. I just don't like carbon as much as I like ti. haha. I'm genereally a ti freak. I would've gotten the ti-racerx but I just couldn't justify 600 more just for a ti front triangle; the rear is always aluminum on a Racer-x.

How tall are you? Also do you know the length of the crankbolt to the top of your SLR saddle over the clamp? And finally what is your inseam length? Oh one more, Do you know if the top tube length that Tius advertises is effective top tube or actual top tube length? tanks alot! :) <<<<>>>>>

I'm right at 5'10", the length I just measured from the crank bolt area to the top of the slr is right under 30 inches. my inseam length is 31-32 ish. the top tube length on a stock med racer-x is 23.25 inches. which is from the center of the seat tube to the center of the head tube. I hope this helps.

I wonder what that makes the effective top tube length. My Airborne Lucky Strike has an effective top tube of 23.7 inches and I use a 120mm stem. If this turns out to be OK I might not need to get the ti version. I want the frame to fit me. I think the large will be too big. tanks again

I just couldn't justify the 600 extra for a ti FRONT TRIANGLE you know what I mean? better to get a med and slightly longer stem than it is to get a frame that's too big. it's annoying, trust me. plus, the medium is lighter :-) haha. later

I think effective top tube length is used on frames with top tubes that slope a lot for extra standover. It's just a measurement of how long the top tube would be if it didn't slope so much. I'm not sure about this, but it does make sense.

The main difference between traditional UST tires and regular tubed tires is that the sidewalls on the UST tires are a lot thicker so that air can't get out. that's what the liquid latex does to regular tires, it seals up the tiny holes on the sidewalls. with that said, you can save a ton of weight by sealing regular tires. here's the most important part. if you're going to do this, choose a relatively light tire, don't go for fast freds or anything like that. I've already been there and done that, yes, it works, but not well at all. The sidewalls on the fast freds are like cloth and therefore, from the start, a lot harder to seal than others. Once you seal them up and start riding you can tell that the sidewalls are too thin and therefore, when you jump stuff, the sidewalls start to give in if you don't put enough pressure in them. UST is so that you can run low pressure. you simply can't run low pressure on a Fast fred and still keep the structural integrity of the tire. that tire requires a tube inside to help support the sidewalls. Phew, okay with that said, go with the python airlites, they're great with liquid latex. just about any tire is perfect except super light tires, stay away from those. hope this helps, ask more questions if you need to. I've sealed up my airlites with stan's liquid latex and they kept air pressure with very minimal leaking for a week +.

normal plain python airlites are around 480g. I put 500 grams into the weight of each tire. so plus 20g for each tire for liquid latex. I have a digital scale and when I weigh the whole bike, it reads 21.0 pounds. all my weights should be dead on. I also have this place where I added 30g of basically nothing...as a buffer. that included electrical tape here and there and zipties..all those don't come close to 30g but I just put it in there as a buffer. I'd much rather have it a little over than a little under than it should be.it's more realistic that way.

Hate to bring it up, but my '03 SMALL, POLISHED RX frame with TI hardware and AL bolt on shock bolt weighs 2440g. And it's disk specific.

AZ X has his small polished disk-specific frame listed as 2500g even.

Both are close enough to be +/- production tolerances.

Yours is listed as 2273g, for a Med, and it's ANO.

What gives?

It's a beauty nonetheless.

All he did was seperate the shock and frame. Although as Bata has mentioned he is still missing tubes or liquid sealant for the tires.

it's 2497 with the rear shock. I only lost around 30g with that special aluminum/ti bolt kit. It was fun changing out the bolts though. haha, may be not for 75 bucks though. about the tubes, there are none. I made my own UST tires with python airlites and as i wrote in the other post is just added about 20g to the tires to adjust for the liquid latex. c'mon guys, you honestly didn't think someone that listed such specifics would forget anything would you? haha.

I also have aluminum rotor bolts and mine are marta SL's (carbon fiber levers) I also have ti disc caliper bolts as well as ti lever bolts.

...I said aluminum rotors not rotor bolts. My rotors are 55 grams each which is 117 grams lighter than your steel ones. I also have Ti caliper and lever bolts like yours. I have a hard time believing those carbon levers save approx 130 grams (over 1/4 lb) over the aluminum ones - the aluminum levers probably only weigh about 30-40 grams each.

there's your problem, you didn't add everything together. Altogether, EVERYTHING is 677g compared to your 590. I think you just forgot to add my brake cable housing.
