| Recommendations on an 80mm fork, inexpensive.......... | KMan Apr 11, 2003 8:54 AM | | This is crossed posted from the suspension forum, but traffic on that forum is pretty slow, plus I think overall bike knowledge is better here!
I'm building up a single speed and looking for a recommendation on a new/used/older model 80mm suspension fork.
I'm 185 lbs and will be using disc brakes.
I would like to keep the weight in the 3.0 to 3.5lb range and definatley want to keep the price down on this one. Also need to use ISO standard disc tabs so Manitou is out of the question (not going to use an adapter either). Would really like to get a 20002 Marathon 80S, but prices are running around $300-$350 which is a bit too much for me right now. My next thought would be a 2000/2001 Rock Shox SID XC, which can be found for around $150/200 on EBay. Also have thought about a 2002 RS Duke Race...I had one last year are really didn't think it was all that plush, but the price is right up my alley.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or recommendations and even better where to buy (besides the classifieds and EBay which I have been keeping an eye on anyway)
Thanks

...if you are located in Europe shipping costs won't be a problem...
