| Removing Chainring for 2X9 | jmudler Apr 11, 2003 11:22 AM | | I bent the big chain ring on my 02 Truvativ stylo's. I never use it and removed it, but I can not tighten the crank bolts tight enough. The middle (now big) chainring is loose against the spider.
What am I missing here? Do I use differ bolts? washers? Please help. TIA |
| I think you must use shorter bolts (like the small's ring ones) | palmix Apr 11, 2003 12:02 PM | | |

The small chain rings screw directly into the spider. The nuts (hope I am using the right term here) are to long, so I sanded then down, but now the bolt (allen head) are to long and can not be tighten all the way. If I sand the nuts down I am worried about the threads |

| re: Removing Chainring for 2X9 | Jrm Apr 11, 2003 3:33 PM | | Another option ive thought about is that truvativ offers treking chanrings in 28 38 and 48T configerations. Meaning you run a 22 38 in a 2x9 configuration witha 11-34 cassette and have a ton of versatility. Sounds kinda cool. |
| Yes, but sometimes the front derailer | Duckman Apr 11, 2003 4:18 PM | | ..has a problem with different then std number of tooth jumps. Meaning 22-32-44 or 24-34-46. The 22-38 can poise probs in some instances. I'm running a 24-36(see above pics)with a 11-34t xtr rear and it jams tho, so you have the right idea regardless. |
