I think you guys are missing the point...scream5204

It's not that it's shiny, and it's not that it's 2 grams heavier. It's a CHRIS KING TITANIUM Lockring. it's supposed to be one of those things that's sweet regardless how shiny or heavy it is.
point not missed.....Ty

Yes it is CK, but let's be honest when on the bike, you can't even see that it is a Chris King as it dissapears behind the drop outs, go and have a look at your cassette now and see how visible the locknut is, it weighs twice as much as my lovely Dura Ace and do you really need the strength of titanium for a lock ring?

Yeah it's only 4 grams difference I know, so go on and get one, no one will know you have it untill you point it out, but at least you will have the pleasure of paying top dollar for that little bit of extra weight.

Ty
you're still missing the point I think....scream5204

It's not that other people know you have it...it's the fact that you know it's there. It's just a little something that's cool. plus, it's double the weight of the dura ace for a reason. (which by the way, 4g whoop de doo) the threads on the CK lockring is longer than that of any shimano lockring. I semi-stripped the threads on the XTR one so I was looking for a replacement. A guy posted a 11th CK ti lockring on here and so, my search began. I found a 12th and posted a picture just 'cause I thought people would enjoy it. the guys at Chris King told me that they made lockrings for the specific purpose of shimano lockrings not having enough threading to sufficiently prevent stripping from happening. It's not a big problem by any means, but in case you wanted a lcokring that would be very difficult to strip, CK offers them. the alumiunm is only 10 bucks. that's less than a replacement duraace or XTr and I bet they weigh the same.
no, really I haven't missed the point....Ty

posted some pictures from a chris king lock ring because its looks more like a jewel than a bike part, and i agree with him, i already ordered one for me :-)

if you dont like its ok but nobody here is anyone to buy king stuff.
hey stumpy!..Ty
Apr 16, 2003 5:25 AM
hey, I am just saying that dura ace is half the weight, that's all, the Chris King looks nice,
go and buy one!

just thought as this forum was called 'Save some weight' I would post some info on a locknut weighing half as much,
I thought that is the point of this forum, I can hardly be accused of 'missing the point'.

anyhow I am off to drill holes in my dura ace to get that b@stard down to 2 grams...

apologies for any offense caused
