So, what did the 03 Scalpel frame weigh in at? Just curious.

Its a very smart design. It just seems like it could be lighter......

Even at 5.5 lbs, thats not bad by any means.

The frame came in at 2300g, or 5 lbs. That includes the integral seatpost binder and bolt plus all cable routing hardware. I weighed a painted frame. Cannondale has also made anodized and polished models that would be lighter.

I would not be suprised to see Cannodale continue making the frame lighter for '04. For '04 I believe they will but a Fox Pro-Pedal rear shock on the bike, which might time the tiny amount of bob in that design.

High-end manufacturers use fancy stuff such as Dupont Imron 6000 paint then apply decals and clear coat over it.
