| I know this is probably boring to most but want opinions on | slcpunk Jul 10, 2003 12:53 PM | | cheap light stems from supergo and performance bike. Both have similiar stems for about 30 bucks weighing about 150grams or a bit more. (give benefit of doubt and checking weights on starbike )
This would be great if I thought the stems would not break too easily. Anyone using these with success? I know they are lame compared to the chi-chi FRM and Extralight stuff, but they are much closer to budget.
thanks! |

| I hear the Performance ones are actually pretty good | pimpbot Jul 10, 2003 3:13 PM | | if you don't mind the cycling world's equivalent of "K-Mart" branded on it. Hey, I guess that's what spray paint is for...
I've never owned one myself. I have a Race Face Protoge, which I got at a swap meet for $12. Good stiff stem. I think you can get them new for like $25 these days. |
