of the bikes i've been lookin at this is by far the best for the $$. How much do they weigh (specailized acts like its some kinda freakin secret) and is it possible to get a medium down to around 27lbs with upgrades?
My XC is around 28lbsBrandon

for the XL frame and mostly stock components.

But I don't have any real lightweight parts on it.

A smaller frame and a few choice upgrades should be able to drop it to around that weight.
28lbs Enduro here also...Archangel

My 2002 Enduro (the base model) is around 28lbs after upgradings. It weighed originally ~31lbs.
By using a lightweight wheelset and Formula B4SL brakes, one could lose about 2lbs. Switching my 2003 XT crankset & BB to some really lightweight set, using lighter tires (now Michelin Comp S Lights), Eclipse tubeless system, using Gripshifts, etc. could lose more than 1lbs.
