Losing air overnight with Stan's(2 posts)

Losing air overnight with Stan's- Jeremy -

I pinch flatted both of my lightweight latex tubes in a jump/crash a few days ago. After much hesitation, I've finally decided to give Stan's a try.

I'm installing it in a Velocity VXC (317 clone) / Conti Explorer Supersonic combo.

I got the kit and installed it last night. Drilled out the inner hole to 3/8's and used between 1 and 1.5 scoops per tire. Inflating was easy but I guess I missed some small holes? When I woke up this morning, both tires are down to about 10 PSI.

Is this common for a first install? Does the latex need to build up and thicken for a day or two?

I sure hope so because I have a series race on Sunday! :)

Thanks for any tips you can give me!

(I know this isn't the "Help with Stan's" forum. I just couldn't help myself ;)

Yes, this is common. It is best to go for a ride immediately after you install Stan's system to make sure the latex has done it's job. Try reinflating the tires and go for a 30 minute spin around your neighborhood. Should take care of the problem. Good luck.
