| Weighed 36 Nokian NBX lite tires and....... | KMan Oct 16, 2003 9:43 AM | | weights ranged from around 456 to 490. Only one or two in the 450's and one or two in the 490's. All the others were pretty close in the mid 460's thru low 480 range.
Fyi for anyone who ordered.....I tried to write the weights inside the tire w/ a marker. I think if you look carefully you might be able to find it. Also after I weighed the tires I just grabbed from the pile and filled boxes. Random selection.

| Lucky bastard... | B R H Oct 16, 2003 10:01 AM | | Mine came in at 490 and 507! This is my typical luck though. |
| you don't have to include the box in the weights ;))... | nino Oct 16, 2003 10:05 AM | | we weigh them without wrapping :-)) ouch - over 500g really sucks! |
| you won't need new tires for the rest of your life then... :)) | nino Oct 16, 2003 10:02 AM | | I got the same weights as you did:
out of 10 tires 2 were about 450, most around 460-480 and just one 487g.
anyway - a great tire and also in loamy, slightly slippery conditions it hooks up well.it tends to pack with dirt but as soon as you get back some speed everything is ok.
weights are about the same as with the Conti Explorer SS which also varies from 440-480g. |
| believe it or not, I only kept 2 for myself. | KMan Oct 16, 2003 10:07 AM | | and at that probably won't use them until next year. Hurt my back over a month ago and have been trying to strengthen my "core" so I can ride a MTB again. I have been out for a few shorter road rides and have felt pretty good. Attempted a light race my team put on 2 weeks ago and had to drop out from my back tightening up. Hoping to try a short MTB ride on Sunday to see if I am progressing any. Anyway I use the winter months to run my heavier tires that I never use during the racing season.

| re: Weighed 36 Nokian NBX lite tires and....... | Brooganza Oct 17, 2003 12:03 PM | | I've thought about those tires - but I run Stans, and the PSI weight recommendations are a little worrisome - does this bother anyone, or is it a non issue? |
| I use the with the ECLIPSE-Tubelesskit....... | nino Oct 17, 2003 10:29 PM | | no problems ever.they inflate real easy and perform great.I use them at 36/39 psi. the small vloume of the tires requires some higher pressure than some wider tires.they roll extremely fast and have excellent grip EVERYWHERE.they also have a real cushy ride compared to other tires.
as tested by german bike magazines they are the fastest MTB tire to date! |
