Anyone know the weights on the 04 Stumpjumper line? I want to get one but would like to compare the weights of the models. Thanks

try weighing them at your lbs. my lbs, supergo, has a digital scale there to weigh bikes on. good luck, they look like nice bikes.
Should be very close to the 03Chester

As an example, the only significant change from the entry level Stumpjumper 03, to the same 04 model is the change from the Skareb Comp fork to the Fox Float 80RL. The Fox is said to be a better fork and I don't think it weighs much more than .1 pounds more.
So the bike shouldn't be much more than a tenth of a pound greater than the 2003 model.

Along those lines, I got a 17 inch 2003 entry level Stumpjumper and mine weighed as followed...

I took off the stock pedals and replaced them with Eggbeaters and removed all the reflectors (easy). After doing that my bike came in at almost exactly 23.0 pounds.
The 4 reflectors weighed about 100 grams and the stock pedals weighed about 195 grams more than the Eggbeaters,
The price of the 04 is about $80 greater than the 03 but the fork is probably worth it.

Personally, I don't think the Comp or Pro models are worth the extra price. I think its better to get a good price on the entry model and then use the extra $500 or more to buy upgrades later...upgrades YOU choose.
First upgrade you can make it to replace the OEM Roll-X Pro tires.
They are SLOW and have tested to have very high rolling resistance versus many other available tires. Switch em out fast to something like Nokian NBX 2.0 Lites or Hutchinson Python Lites...
The Nokians have made my bike MUCH MUCH faster....Do a search to see previous discussion on this fast tire. Also, the tires are about 60 grams lighter each or about 120 grams per set. But the increased speed is almost all due to the lower rolling resistance of the tire.
So a 17 inch with Eggs, and Nokians would bring your bike in about 22.75 pounds. Not bad for the price. Further weight loss could be accomplished with that extra $400 to $500 you save.
Should be very close to the 03TheMaxx

If you are asking about the Stumpjumper FSR, which they didn't make in 2003, the weight is very close to the old Stumpy FSR. Pretty light frame- probably between 5.25 and 5.5 lbs.
I was thinking of FSR's NMpedalfaraway

the 04 SJ FSR frame weigh in at about 2.5kg/5.5lb.... similar to a 03 and older.
