Lightening up the P-Jamis XLT 1.0(1 post)

Lightening up the P-Jamis XLT 1.0TJZi

I can only want to improve my situ with my paJamis XLT, the weight being a boring issue. The frame is as I want: strong. The wheels seem to slow me down too much; Mav's F219 (with deore hubs). I cannot think of too many other areas to lighten up but in the wheels and shock as I don't need to big-hit coil that came with. I like the Fox Vanilla just fine.

XC rides are so finicky. I was never very successful for more than a 1/2 to 3/4 season on my sugar and the rest of these "types" seem to be of similar stature--for the money.

Yes, I realize that one can pay more and get more but, for real, the lightweight XC bikes are not for tough terrain nor are they built to last for moer than a year of solid riding. Too bad no one makes a cartridge bearing FS from Steel; OK ti is also nice.
