rotating weight all that much--or brake drag W/ Jamis XLTTJZi

The wheels of my new XLT seem so heavy, so much harder to get moving from stop. Could it be that the F219 are just so much heavier than the other wheels I have ever had? I have checked my brakes and they are not dragging. I have even halved the portion of slime in each tire. Still--Am I getting weaker?

I would love some input from people: what parts do you change to shave weight on an XC-epic bike like the XLT. Most if not all the stock parts are good stuff, in my opinion.
Perhaps its neitherChester

I hate to sound like a broken record, but did you ever think that your tires may not be efficient.
You didn't say whether your bike was a XLT 1.0 or a 2.0
In either case the tires are either the Scorpian or the Mosquito and both have rolling resistance readings of 35.5 watts or higher.
You will experience more of the "heavy" feeling from the high rolling resistance than you will from the wheels or tires weighing too much.
If you could just find a substitute tire with comparable grip and a rolling resistance of say, 31 watts each, then you would lose 9 watts of rolling resistance on a set. As I said in a below post, dropping those 9 watts would make your bike roll on a 3 percent gradual grade like it was 6.6 pounds lighter at a steady speed. Even getting the wheels rolling will be much easier regardless of the rotating weight aspect of the question.
Here is one previously posted list of some alternative tires, with your tires also listed.
