Trevor!, just finished my Truth..older guy
Oct 21, 2003 8:47 AM
Just finshed building up my small '03 Truth and it weighs 24 lbs. 4 ozs.
Specs:
'03 Truth small - 5.13 lbs
'03 Marathon SL '85 3.7 lbs cut
'03 Martas - wavy rotors but not SL
Ck ISO/317/DB 1644 gms
CK headset
'03 XTR Rr D
'98 XTR Crankset/BB
'03 XT shifters/ Fr D
'92 Ti Amclassic seatpost(cut) 204 gm.
SLR saddle
Titec Ti 118 (130gm) bars
'98 Icon stem
Ritchey clear grips (66 gms)
Dura Ace 27-12 cassette/chain
'98 Time Carbon pedals
Conti Explo dual (orange middle)
Lunar lites tubes
3m filament tape (rim tape)

Some stuffs I *borrowed* from my other bikes for the moment. Changing to newer stuff will make it lose more weight but with serious $$.
Right now I have '98 XTR which weigh 900 grams including bb if changed to '03s XTR will save 150(?)gm.,
Atac pedals 400 gm vs. 266 gm stainless eggbeaters.
USE Ti seatpost at 174 vs. Ti AmClassic(cut) at 204 = 30 gm.
Extralite stem at 98 vs. Icon at 158 = 60 gms.
Ritchey grips 66 gm vs. 16 gm Titec pork rinds = 50 gm (soft rubber are more comfy than the minimalist foams)
Conti Dual (orange middle) 467 gm to Conti SS (430 gm) Twister SS 370 gm) = 134 gm

This will bring me to the 23 lb. territory. Did I miss anything? Anybody cares to comment.
Great Job - You beat me by a day too!!!! Mine will be 23.89LbsTrevor!

My build got delayed when I noticed I was missing a small part (Olive) for one of my XTR brakes. I have weighed everything and will scrape under the 24Lbs mark just..... Some parts were heavy. My XT front mech was 150g (2004) model but I changed it to a 2003 one as I wanted a 125g front mech not a ton weight one. (25 saving)

I think your weights sound about right...

Could you tell me your weight and rear shock setting. I am around 165Lbs and though 105psi would be about right with around 4-5 twists out on the rebound.

My Build is as follows, and all weights are confirmed unless noted otherwise:

I am missing cable housing weight, but thats around 50g or so. I will save a further 10g on the steerer tube as I got it cut long till I find the sweet spot for my stem weight.
Top job indeed. You beat me to it by a dayTrevor!
