first of all i really like the look of your bike and congrats on the weight! can you tell me if the total weight was achieved by adding individual weights or have you weighed the completed bike on digi scales?

has been weighted on a digital weight and added together. I haven't confirmed the total weight yet. Only with my bathing weight which have 0,1 kg interval. As soon as I have the weight confirmed I will post it on light-bikes. Why are you asking? :-)
the reason why i'm asking.....................marco righetti

Is because i know how difficult it can be to bring the weight down on a full sus,I know that the carbon fuel frameset is lighter than the alu version especially the heaviest original slr version which is my version on the light-bikes site of 22.45 lbs with v's but to get the bike down to 21.18 lbs with discs is truly amazing!
thats 1.27 lbs lighter so i'm wondering if the only way to bring my fuels weight down is to get the carbon version.
btw how did you manage to bring together the hollow tech bb with the pre 03 xtr cranks? (Is the hollow tech bb the 03 xtr?)
I bet it's mostly due to the parts..........KMan

I have been considering the Fuel 100 carbon frame as well.
If I go that route, change the parts over from my Titus Racer X (2003 large @ 6lbs) I would loose 1/2 lb in the frame and adding a Noleen 100mm fork instead of the Fox is another 1/2lb. Could also say I am riding the Conti Twister supersonics and loose another 1/2lbs. (By the way it's my "opinion" that no one really races on these tires on a consistant bases....maybe they uses them for a few rides here and there, but a lot of the bikes listed on lightbikes uses these tires as a weight gimmic only. I would love to drop buy a few of these owners houses to take a suprise look at their bikes and see what tires they really are using!)

My total new weight would be somewhere around 22.03lbs. Not bad for a large frame! That is still with a pretty heavy wheelset.

Very do-able

First.. my BB is not the 2003 xtr hollow tech but the 2002 xtr hollow tech BB: http://www.shimano-europe.com/cycling/catalogue/content_prodx.phtml?pid=10195&psid=29

Secondly... As far as I can see the most weight is saved in the used parts. A fully frame is about 2400-2500 gram (about 100 grams difference) but a wheelset can varies about 200-300 grams so without know your specs I suppose you should look there!!

wow mads that sh bb is about the same weight........marco righetti

Yo Marco!

Nice bike you got there!!!! The obvisios weightchanges is your pedals, seat and bottlecage... if you would go for: triple ti eggbeaters, speedneedle and tune carboncage you would save about 200 grams alone.
alas mads there is a weight restriction on triple ti's..........marco righetti
Jan 21, 2004 2:28 PM
and at 220 lbs i dont meet it! I've just ordered ti beaters at 230 grams and i'm considering taking the leather and foam of the slr.
I've taken the specialised ribcage off and put on a v-light alu cage about 30- 40 grms?
have you managed to weigh the complete bike yet on digi scales?
alas mads there is a weight restriction on triple ti's..........Mads Koch

Only on my bathing-weight and it says 9,7 kg! Insteed of ripping your SLR why not buying a AX Lightness saddle? Weight is about 80 grams. A light bottlecage is about 8-10 grams or why not use a Camelbak?!
because an ax lightness costs a fortune and ...................marco righetti

I really like selle italia saddles as they definately fit my butt correctly!
I will look into the bottle cage situation.
I know what you mean...Mads Koch

about the money... if I had 1 million I would like to change some things about my set-up!!! I'm also happy with my SLR but the weight of an AX saddle makes it very attractive... otherwise the SLR C64 (thinks that the name) looks really sweet!!
