Jan 22, 2004 5:27 PM | | I wanted to get some fancy ti nuts for my 14 mm bmx axle. Do I have to measure the threads at all? Once upon a time people would have 26tpi but with metric is it all the same and just M14 for the diameter of the axle/bolt?
Also if I have a bolt or nut that uses a standard wrench can I simply replace it with a metric bolt if the diameter is in a common mm?
I just received a ti 14mm axle. Will it be slightly more prone to strip? To keep the rear wheel from sliding in those slot type drop outs it really helps to tighten down the nuts as much as possible plus use a chain tensioner.
