Oct 30, 2001 8:42 AM | | You? I think it was pretty well organized, though some of the turns should have been marked. I was stoked when I found a toad. I am going to have to practice my helmet, dart, and horse shoe throwing. This was my first organized event that wasn't a race. I am beginning to think racing is a little over-rated. It seems like when I have the most fun is at events like this one and the 24 hour team events. I like the way Term, Timan, and those others who decided to stick together throughout the ride. They did it as a team, and that is very cool. I did a lot of the course on my own cheering people along as I passed them or they passed me. This one guy, Gill, and I played catch and go for about 1/4 of the race until we got about half-way when I decided I had better start looking out for toads and slowed down...it paid off. Would I do it again? You bet. Will I do the Vision Quest? I want to wait and see what shape I am in in March. Probably a go though. I know Karin, Dennis, and John had a great time too. We were talking about next year on the ride home. Well, off to school I go, and afterwards I am doing a long SS road ride with my 42 front ring... |
