| Full moon last night. Did you ride? (xpost) | mugg Nov 2, 2001 12:07 PM | | We carefully navigated the dark, creepy woods on a cool autumn night. The silver moon was suspended high above; it served as a bonfire for all to see. Images of werewolves and ghosts frolicking in the woods made my heart beat rapidly as I hugged the tight turns. Night is fear and dangerous. Riding at night, I have the fear of auguring on hidden rocks or encountering hooded beings chanting gibberish chants. On this particular night ride, I only have to be faster than Drevil, much easier said than done. The stillness of the night made our night ride creepier. There was a scurrying sound across the meandering creek. I immediately focused my headlamp to where the sound was and several pairs of yellowish eyes stared me down, spooking me even more. I had illusion of shadows following us, lurking at every turn. Several times during the ride, we turned off our lights and carefully picked our line through the maze of fallen leaves. Our dimly illuminated light was provided by the moon as our senses worked overtime to help our eyes adjust without artificial lights. "Bring on the night....... Thanks for reading and have a great weekend of riding...muggster.

 Wait for me!

| Great Ride, No Moon | WAM Nov 2, 2001 12:35 PM | | Five of us met up for a ride last night. We rode some great trails that I haven't been on for over 7 years, but the cloud cover was too thick and we never got to enjoy the Moonlight.
great pic's and writeup.

| ALWAYS... | T O M A Nov 2, 2001 12:48 PM | | I was meeting some gearie buds out for a night ride
with my ss...
My two fully charged batteries lay somewhere at home
not here...
I found a half charged head trip battery in my bag
it'll have to do...
When we hit the trail the beem of my light was narrow and candle-like
it didn't improve...
It was my friend Keith's night to lead
He decided to punish me...
The trail was covered with so many fallen leaves, hiding rocks, drops, logs, etc...
I was punished...
A header off of some unseen, leaf-covered log, banged my knee on my stem
Ouch...
This ride was painful, but fun. It hurt on the ride back
Post Ride Brews and Pizza salved my wounds...
My batteries were sitting on the table when i got home with a sign from my wife
Have fun? |
