2.4 Moto's -or-2.1 Tioga DH's ??29

I'll be using a Mavic 221/radial laced on front & Richey OCR Comp rear....I havn't tried the 2.4-it seems so wide for a 221 rim-will it work ?......2.4 Moto's sure do look good on my Mammoth's (too heavy)
Are you a bigger guy?matt in marin

A 2.4 moto is a fairly fat tire and a 221 is a fairly narrow rim. A lot of people run setups like that happily. I found that I got too much squirm under my 225lbs during hard cornering to take. Moved up to Rhyno Lite XL's - problem solved. Much better tire profile and ride "feel" too.

Try that combo. You might not have a problem with it.

Moto is heavy and slow. Great for ruts, but I hate it.
Never tried Tiogas but my 2.4 motoraptors are great.LEF-T

Mine are mounted on Rynolites and I am still waiting for my first flat. I weigh 200 and only run 20-25 psi. No rim pinches after 7 months. I just completed my third desert x-c race with low pressure.

I past several ss's fixing flats on narrow racing tires with much higher pressure. I love the ride it's almost like full suspension. No sidewall cuts either, they weigh 780 gr each, but they are bomb proof.
cool...I have em mounted up !! thanks dudes......29
